Links & Tips
This month’s tip:
Learn to market. Even if you try one new marketing tool a quarter, it will help you achieve a more successful career down the road. You don’t have to have a novel in print to learn to market. Some of the best marketing happens before you publish. Gather a social network so that when the time comes for your (next) book to debut, you have a ready source of buyers at hand.

On My Bookshelf:
Search Engine Optimization for Dummies by Peter Kent (2011, Wiley)
There isn’t much on my shelf this season that is actually fun reading. My new year’s resolution is to start learning a little bit more about what I do. I’d like to better formalize my education and experience in SEO and start putting more of this in practice for myself and my clients. As writers, we need to know how to get discovered by our readers. Hopefully, this book will force me to comply with my own rules.
